Numerical Study of a Variable Wall Angle Made of DC01 Steel by Incremental Forming Process

Abstract Nowadays, there is a high demand for rapid prototyping parts and products manufactured through plastic cold deformation. Incremental forming process one of many which presents numerous advantages fast production complex shape parts. The purpose this study to develop numerical model finite element analysis simulate the incremental process. For variable wall angle part (VWA) ranges from 45° at higher base frustrum cone 70° was proposed. showed where maximum strains are localized, how big forces during much material thinned. Although does not indicate possible failure material, integrity structural stiffness altered due minimum thickness reached just 0.26mm.
